The consultancy works with clients and their development teams to resolve highway and transport issues that limit a site's development potential, with directors involved in every job from start to finish. Clients include private individuals, architects, planning consultants, local authorities and developers from local to national scale, in both the private and public sectors. Alun Rees and his team previously worked for specialist transport planning firms, town planning firms and multi-disciplinary engineering consultancies.

Services

Acstro carries out access feasibility studies to establish whether land can be given safe and suitable access, and appraises and designs site accesses, internal roads, junctions and off-site highway improvements, testing designs with computer models of expected traffic. It prepares transport assessments and transport statements to support planning applications, and travel plans to encourage sustainable travel. Other work includes swept path analysis for delivery and emergency vehicles, parking provision and management advice, audits and improvements for public transport, walking and cycling, and road safety assessments that analyse collision records and design improvements. It also acts as expert witness at planning appeal hearings, public inquiries and civil court cases, for both developers and local authorities.
