Precast concrete headwalls are its main product line, offered as an alternative to in-situ construction where pipework discharges into attenuation ponds, rivers, ditches, swales and tidal environments. The range covers standard, Sewers for Adoption, rectangular, Anglian Water, angled, channel, culvert, penstock, splayed wing, narrow, swale inlet, mitred and bespoke headwalls. Althon states that its headwalls are made with a low carbon concrete mix complying with BS 8500-2:2023, that reinforcement can be CARES accredited and certified to BS EN 15258, and that ranges are designed to Sewers for Adoption 7th Edition and Severn Trent Water specifications. Accessories such as flap valves, penstocks, Kee Klamp handrails, baffle blocks, gratings and trash screens can be factory fitted.

Flow control and drainage

The flow control and flood prevention range includes penstocks, HDPE and ductile iron flap valves, duckbill and Checkmate valves, inline non-return valves, stop logs, orifice plates, safety chains and mammal ledges. Althon also supplies polymer concrete, GRP and heavy duty traffic drainage channels, Sewers for Adoption and Sewers for Scotland gratings, sloped trash screens, precast penstock and inspection chambers, penstock endwalls and silt traps.
