About Bethell Group
Bethell is a privately owned civils and utilities contractor delivering integrated infrastructure projects nationwide. The business was founded in Manchester in 1865 by Charles Bethell as a family owned road construction company, and today employs more than 350 people. Its head office is at Dane House on Europa Park in Kearsley, with offices in Morley, Leeds, and at Manchester Airport.
The civils division has an in-house workforce of around 250 and self-delivers work packages up to £20 million, under design and build, construct only, term maintenance and strategic partnership models. Work includes reinforced concrete structures, drainage, highway construction, public realm and hard landscaping, groundworks, foundations and underground structures, as well as shaft sinking and tunnelling for water authorities. It has experience in regulated environments including airports, motorways, rail, nuclear and petrochemical sites. Named projects include the Manchester Airport Transformation Programme and the M1 Junction 33 Rotherham motorway service area.
Utilities and green energy
As an independent connections provider Bethell offers turnkey water, gas and electricity connections for residential, commercial, industrial and high rise developments, along with telecoms ducting. Green energy work covers EV charging, district heating networks and energy centres, and connection of distributed generation and storage.
