CONE 12 UK is an add-on for AutoCAD or BricsCAD and can be supplied with a copy of BricsCAD. It contains a database of over 3,000 signs, symbols and schematics, from a single cone up to sections of roadworks for motorway schemes, including bilingual Welsh and English signs. Drawings follow the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002, the Safety at Street Works and Road Works code of practice and Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual, and road markings are drawn in line with Chapter 5.

Tools and users

Users can produce standards-based schematic diagrams or scale plan drawings placed on imported maps, with tools for lane approaches, coning and devices, tapers, setting out, curves and road centre lines. Sign wizards create temporary, directional, advance direction and motorway signs, and bills of quantities can be generated from a drawing. The software is used by highway authorities, utility companies, local government, traffic management companies, civil engineers, consultants, main contractors, plant hire firms and event managers.

Training is delivered online on a one-to-one basis, with courses for new CAD users and for those with existing AutoCAD or BricsCAD experience, and technical support is offered by email and phone.
