About Downland Plant Hire
Downland Plant Hire Ltd is a family owned self drive plant hire company established in 2003 to serve the South of England. It is run by Andrew Luckin, who has more than 30 years of experience in the plant hire business. The company operates from two depots, in Horsham and Worthing, and covers West Sussex, East Sussex, Hampshire and the wider South Coast.
Its equipment is hired to customers in both the commercial and domestic construction sectors and is made up of excavators, site dumpers, rollers and excavator attachments. Staff can advise customers on choosing the right machine for a particular job.
Fleet
Excavators run from a 0.8 tonne Kubota K008-3 micro excavator through 1.5, 1.7, 2.6 and 3 tonne Takeuchi and Kubota machines, up to 5, 6 and 9 tonne Takeuchi excavators (TB250, TB260 and TB290). Dumpers include 1 tonne and 1.75 tonne skip loading dumpers and 3 tonne and 6 tonne Thwaites and Terex dumpers. Rollers include a Bomag 80 with an 800mm drum and a larger 1200mm wide roller. Attachments include Rammer and Arrowhead breakers for excavators from 1.5 to 8 tonnes, Invictor block grabs for 5 and 8 tonne excavators, and post hole borers with a range of auger bits.
All equipment is hired under CPA conditions. Machines are delivered full of fuel, delivery, collection and fuel charges apply, and the hirer is responsible for insuring machinery while it is on hire.
