About Gensol Ltd
Gensol Engineering is a mechanical engineering and fabrication company based on East Bank Road, Felnex Trading Estate, in Newport, South Wales. It has an engineering heritage of more than 40 years, originally serving the heavy coal and steel industries in and around South Wales, and now also works in the renewable energy and highways sectors. The company serves commercial, private and public sector customers throughout Wales, the wider UK and Ireland, and is located close to major communication routes.
Its fabrication work includes hand railing, working platforms, mezzanine floors, structural steel fabrications, architectural stainless steel and pipework. Design drawings and structural calculations are provided for all metal fabrications, welding is carried out using MIG, TIG and MMA processes, and welder and procedure approvals are provided where required. Plate rolling capacity runs up to 2,000mm wide by 10mm thick, with profile cutting and shearing up to 2,000mm by 12mm.
Machining and site services
The 1,300 square metre machine shop is equipped with conventional and CNC machines and lifting capacity up to 7.5 tonnes. Capacity includes turning up to 5,200mm between centres, milling on tables up to 6,000mm by 2,000mm, horizontal boring and drilling. On site, Gensol undertakes structural steel erection, plant and machinery installation, large scale decommissioning and machinery moves, supported by a 10 tonne flatbed lorry with a HIAB of up to 5 tonnes. A site labour force provides planned and breakdown maintenance, and the company also offers engineering design and scaffolding.
Gensol states that its management system complies with ISO 9001 and publishes health and safety, environmental and quality policies.
