Overview
About Gray (plant Hire) Ltd
Gray Plant Hire is a road planing and plant hire company founded in 1973 and based on the Aylesham Industrial Estate near Canterbury in Kent. Most of its business is in Kent, Sussex, Surrey and London, and it serves customers across the South East of England, handling several hundred customers a year on work ranging from large contract hire to small works.
Planing, or cold milling, is one of its specialisms. The planer fleet runs from a skid steer with planer head for smaller jobs, through a W35DC for trimming and small cuts and a Bomag 600 with a cutting depth of 300mm, to a tracked W100 for larger road jobs. Machines are supplied with operators who have more than 20 years' experience, transport of the machine is included, and a sweeper and tipper are provided with the planers. The company says planers are available at short notice, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Plant, haulage and sweeping
Alongside planing, Gray offers plant hire on a self-drive or operated basis, low loader hire, road sweepers, tipper haulage and other bespoke services. Its fleet covers transport, sweepers, tippers, planers and other plant, and the company says it uses modern, efficient machinery. It is a member of the Construction Plant-hire Association and the Road Haulage Association, and maintains health and safety, environmental and quality policies.
