About LCVT: Light Commercial Vehicle Technology Ltd
LCVT (Light Commercial Vehicle Technology) designs and manufactures lightweight commercial vehicle bodies for the UK market. Rather than general bodybuilding, the company concentrates on low floor and specialist bodies for 3.5 tonne vehicles, aimed at operators who want higher payloads, better operational efficiency and fewer health and safety issues when loading and unloading. Its main markets are grounds maintenance, traffic management, recovery, car transport and tool hire.
LCVT can design a vehicle from the ground up, improve existing traditional bodywork or supply from a portfolio of standard bodies, including its Space Frame Low Line chassis conversion. Design work uses CAD and FEA software. Vehicles can be built on free-issue donor vehicles supplied by the customer or on LCVT stock vehicles.
Traffic management vehicles
The 3.5 tonne low floor traffic management vehicle is based on a Fiat Ducato Euro 6D with an LCVT chassis conversion. It offers a standard payload of 1,380kg, with a 4,250kg variant available, a type approved 2,300kg tow bar and three bed lengths. Features include a load-certified bi-fold mesh rear ramp, side loading, a slip-resistant floor, lockable side lockers, recessed lashing rings and telescopic or removable fall arrest barriers. Options include an LP13 illuminated directional arrow, LED repeater lights, sign storage racks and CCTV.
Customers named on its website include Days Rental, Site Safe Traffic Management Solutions, SRL Traffic Systems, idverde and Taylor Construction Plant. In 2025 its Side Tipping Beavertail won the Grounds Fest Transport New Product Award. LCVT holds UKAS accredited ISO 9001 certification. Its head office is in Lye, Stourbridge, and it has built vehicles at a factory in Peterborough.
