Zep UK is the British arm of Zep, a maker of cleaning and maintenance chemicals founded in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1937. Zep Europe entered the UK market in 2012 by acquiring the Hale Group and Mykal Ltd together with their production plants, and Mykal Industries continues as one of its brands. The UK business is based on Tanhouse Lane in Widnes, Cheshire, and Zep runs production plants and commercial branches in the UK and Italy. The wider company was acquired by New Mountain Capital in 2015.
Zep supplies cleaning solutions for industrial and institutional customers and for retail, along with cleaning and maintenance machinery and equipment. Its catalogue runs to more than 1,000 products. Industrial sectors served include industry, institutions, food and beverage, water treatment, transportation and automotive, building and construction, professional cleaning and maintenance, and paper, with customers ranging from manufacturers and hotels to government organisations. A rail range covers interior and exterior train care and depot maintenance.
Winter and site products
Products relevant to site maintenance include ICE MELT AERO windscreen de-icer, alongside degreasers and products for outdoor and flooring use. The retail range also covers kitchen and bathroom, plumbing, decorating and speciality products.
Zep UK holds ISO 9001:2015 certification from NQA, and the company also references Ecolabel and NSF registration for parts of its range.
