Tracsis Traffic Data is the traffic survey and data collection business of Tracsis plc, a transport technology group listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange and headquartered in Leeds. The group develops technology for rail and road transport, and its Traffic Data business collects and analyses information on how people and vehicles use the road network.
The business combines automatic and manual collection methods, blending machine learning with conventional survey techniques, and provides both real-time and post-survey insights. Its clients include local authorities, transport bodies, consultancies and transport planning professionals, and it also offers consultancy and training.
Surveys and technology
Survey types include traffic counts covering vehicle flows and active travel movements, vehicle speed surveys for road design standards, queue length surveys for traffic models, origin and destination surveys for transport planning models, parking stress surveys, public transport surveys and market research. Data is captured using digital ANPR, drones fitted with HD cameras for traffic flow and network monitoring, and video analytics.
Tracsis has developed its own products for this work. FlowIQ uses AI video analytics to detect and classify road users from existing footage, the AI Portal allows live and pre-recorded video to be visualised, and Smart Temporary Surveys provide AI-powered multimodal transport surveys.
Tracsis Traffic Data holds ISO 9001 certification, Cyber Essentials Plus and FORS Bronze, and is CHAS compliant. At group level, Tracsis plc holds ISO 14001 and ISO 27001 certification.
